Reindeers are the most numerous animals in the park. Mostly they graze in the southern upland part of the Park. This territory is not affected by spring floods and dominated by larch forest and shrub lands. Reindeers rarely visit flood plane. Besides grass they actively (especially in winter time) eat willow shrubs, moss from trees and lichens.
Reindeers usually roam in herds of 7-15 species. It looks like conditions for living in the Park are favourable for them since, female give brood every year and death rates are low.
Reindeers try to avoid man and rarely approach close to the base.
Despite the fact that these reindeers were domestic animals, as soon as they are in the park they move away from base and they are not easy to see
