Musk ox

Musk ox are the last animals we reintroduced so far. They arrived to the Park in September 2010. These animals were brought from the Wrangel Island. Next year we plan to bring several more seasons.

Comparing with Wrangel island food base in the Park is very good for musk ox. So far they are doing well and show no signs on body weight loss. Right now they are kept in a small 50 ha fenced area to keep track of there behavior and conditions.

Babies are captured by shooting with tranquilizer. After that animals take around 5 hours to recover before they can be put into cage and transported to base.
