Due to poaching density of moose in the region have substantially decreased in the last 20 years. To increase moose density in the park , in several places in the fence built special constructions allowing animals outside the fenced area to enter the Park unobstructed, while not allowing to go back.
Besides that we catch wild baby moose in other regions and tranport them to the park.
180 kilometers up the Kolyma from the North-East Scientific station, there is a big tributary named Omolon. It is a mountain river with many stony and sandy islands on it. In.the end of June, beginning of July when there are most mosquitoes moose mom and kids hide on this islands, where there is more wind and less mosquitos. If to force them to run into the water, baby moose can be grabbed into the boat without killing the mom or utilizing tranquilizers.
